Dog Bite

My name is Dawn and I have been a patient of Dr. Amjad for almost 7 years now. I was referred to Dr. Amjad as a second opinion, after a traumatic injury from a dog bite, and resulting surgery. The first surgeon completely dismissed my symptoms of a deep burning ache, weakness and color changes associated with the affected hand and arm. Upon my first appointment with him, Dr. Amjad made me feel very comfortable. He listened to what had been going on over the past 6 months, and had the unfortunate task of making the diagnosis of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) or as it is now more commonly know, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, type ll (CRPS). He ordered more testing to confirm his strong suspicions, as well as an MRI, to evaluate the Median Nerve. When all the tests were completed it was found that another surgery was necessary. Little did I know how vastly my life was to change. RSD/CRPS are life altering diagnosis, but Dr. Amjad never wavered, never gave up, and never stopped in his search for something that would help me. He was open to both traditional and non-traditional methods of treatment. His professionalism, compassion and knowledge base were only enhanced by his office personal. They have all been with him over the years, and make my visits to his office an atmosphere of visiting with friends! It was/is Dr. Amjad’s undying encouragement throughout this process that has not only allowed me to discover a stronger, more determined self, but gave me the strength to grieve my “old life” and focus so boldly on the new I have built, despite my diagnosis. There are not enough words to express the difference Dr. Amjad has made in my life! I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida, but would travel to the ends of the earth to see him for my bi-annual visits!!
